SHIATSU
Shiatsu is a Japanese form of massage therapy. The word Shiatsu comes from two Japanese words – “shi” (finger) and “atsu” (pressure). In addition to the direct stimulation of pressure points along the energy pathways of your body, gentle stretching techniques are applied over a wider area of the body to integrate the point work and encourage the flow of Chi (energy) throughout the body. Shiatsu is a meditative healing art that honors the body, mind and spirit. A 90 minute extended session is recommended to further absorb the immediate affects of your session. Traditionally done on a mat, shiatsu techniques can also be done on a table.
SWEDISH MASSAGE
Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility. This work is done on a table with draping, where you are covered with sheet except for areas being worked on.
THAI MASSAGE
Thai massage is more energizing and rigorous than most other forms of massage therapy. It’s also called Thai Yoga massage, because I use my hands, knees, legs, and feet to move you into a series of yoga-like postures and stretches. My clients say Thai massage is like doing yoga without doing any of the work. No oil is applied, and you are fully dressed during the session. A single Thai massage session will help you release stress and relieve pain, and help you function more effectively at work and home.
REFLEXOLOGY
Reflexology is a type of bodywork that focuses on applying pressure to the specific nerve zones in your feet. Unlike other foot massages that intend to mostly relieve tension in the feet themselves, reflexology is a far more in-depth type of treatment that aims to harmonize your entire body. According to reflexology, every part of the human body is mapped into your feet. Reflexology treatments have been found to be highly effective in helping conditions such as allergies, headaches, and depression.
ASIAN STYLE BODYWORK
Asian bodywork aims to restore and balance the flow of energy (Chi) throughout your body. It uses gentle (usually) hand and finger pressure along specific points and energy pathways (meridians) on your body to restore your body to full health. There are many forms of Asian bodywork, but they all share a common foundation in Chinese Medicine. They simply differ in their use of specific techniques to balance your energy. This technique is also traditionally done clothed.
NATURAL FACELIFT MASSAGE
Natural Facelift Massage is a non-invasive technique which works to sooth away the chronic tension that builds up in facial muscles from day to day habits which accumulate over time, and to lighten expression lines used to convey thoughts and emotions.
Without the use of oils or lotions, the face is worked on to relax tight muscles and ‘stuck’ connective tissue. Some of the goals of this type of treatment include: reducing wrinkles and lines of expression; decrease puffiness; present a more relaxed and vibrant appearance. For longer lasting results, several sessions are generally required, though visual changes and refreshed appearance are apparent immediately.
